My story begins on one of my travels to the far east. As we all must do at times, I needed to use the men’s room. And, not all restrooms are created equal, even in modern airports, the hygiene and overall cleanliness is quite variable. I looked at the toilet seat and wished there was a way that I could sanitize the surface, not just wipe. I was aware that bulky standalone devices existed, but who carries, and who wants to carry, these large devices everywhere they go.
Around the same time, my wife was involved in a serious automobile accident. Fortunately, after some time and a lot of therapy she was able to return to her normal state of being. During her rehabilitation, we learned of various types of treatments available to help heal the body, especially the power of light. Her physical therapist applied red and near-infrared light therapy to address her muscle and joint injuries, reducing the inflammation, allowing her greater mobility and function. There was only one major issue, for her to receive the light therapy she needed to visit the physical therapist 2-3 times per week for several weeks. This was not only a large inconvenience, but also quite costly.

With both my travel experience and my wife’s experience at the therapist’s office, the idea for the TYGON™ Lyte and TYGON™ Lyte Ultra developed. We incorporated wavelengths of light that are scientifically proven to address everyday dermatological and sanitizing concerns as well as medical conditions many of us suffer from, while still maintaining portability, ease-of-use and convenience. I wanted something that could easily fit into our day to day lives.
